Oakley is home to four elementary schools, two middle school and a high school. In spring 1998 voters approved a bond measure that will allow construction of a fifth elementary school to be built at the site of the new Delta Vista Middle School on East Cypress Road.

The Oakley Union School District oversees the operations of all but Freedom High School, which is under the control of the Liberty Union High School District based in Brentwood.
